April News

We hope you enjoyed the long Easter weekend without any Easter Egg or Hot Cross Bun related mishaps!

We all enjoyed the break and are appreciating the warmer days and lighter evenings.  Grass seed season is officially open. We have already removed the first seed from a dog’s ear and know that unfortunately it will be the first of many. Limping, licking and head shaking/ holding the head to one side can all be signs of a grass seed gone awry. Please do get in touch if you have any concerns. It’s also worth getting up to date with flea and worm treatments at this time of year. As the weather gets warmer and pets are out and about more, parasite prevention becomes increasingly important. Regular flea and worm treatments are included in all our ‘Paws & People’ subscription health plans. If you are out of medication, give us a call. More info on our Paws & People plans is available on our website.

We’d like to introduce two new team members ... Some of you may already have met RVN Maia, who is covering Sarah’s maternity leave and has settled in really well. And baby Fearne was born on March 31st weighing a fine 8lb. We are really looking forward to meeting her!

We enjoyed chatting to visitors to the Thriplow Daffodil Weekend at the end of March. The weather was so kind that we almost got sunburnt, and we were glad we turned up with lots of drinking water for the many dogs, of all shapes and sizes, in attendance. If you have never been to the event, we would strongly recommend a visit.

We will be heading along to the Sawston Fun Run on May the 10th (to support rather than run!) so hope to see some of you there. We are also helping organise a Family Pets Service at 3pm, at St Andrews Church in Stapleford on Sunday May 17th. Well behaved dogs are very welcome, as are small pets in secure carriers. Please don’t bring cats or rabbits as they are likely to find the experience stressful, but you can bring along a photo instead, and we’d love you to bring photos of past pets so we can remember them together. More details will follow nearer the time.

We are also keen to share picture of the pets who are sadly no longer with us on the ‘gone but not forgotten section’ of our website (at the bottom of the CSV community page) so please email in your favourite photos.

That’s all for now. As ever, if you have any questions about any aspects of your pet’s care, please do get in touch.

Harriet, Patrick and all the CSV team.
